With over a decade of frontline experience, Sam Berridge is a HEMS Specialist Paramedic in Critical Care, dedicated to delivering advanced pre-hospital care in some of the most challenging environments. Sam combines his clinical expertise with a passion for education, ensuring others are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergencies.

As the founder and director of Vortex Medical Ltd, Sam’s mission is to raise the standard of first aid and medical training by delivering courses that are practical, evidence-based, and taught by professionals who actively work in the field. Every course is informed by real-world experience and the latest clinical guidelines—because when it matters most, theory alone isn't enough.

With extensive clinical experience in austere and remote settings through his ongoing work with HM Coastguard, Sam has developed a deep understanding of medicine in complex, high-pressure situations. He also serves as the Lead Paediatric Paramedic for a local air ambulance charity, where he specialises in the care of critically ill and injured children in pre-hospital settings.

Sam's passion for excellence extends beyond frontline care—he is deeply involved in clinical governance, helping to shape standards, protocols, and quality assurance frameworks to improve patient safety and outcomes.
